This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Pendzi collects, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. By using Pendzi you consent to the practices described here.
1. Data we collect
You provide: name, email, username, date of birth, gender, photos, bio, interests, and messages. Automatically: approximate location (with your permission), device/usage data, and IP address. Payments: phone number and transaction records (card/PIN details are handled by our payment providers, not stored by us).
2. How we use it
To create and operate your profile; match you with and show your distance to other users; deliver messages; process subscriptions and payments; keep the community safe (moderation, fraud and abuse prevention); send service notifications; and comply with legal obligations.
3. Location
We use the location you provide (via device GPS or a city you select) to show nearby people and approximate distance. You can change or remove it in your profile. We do not display your exact coordinates to other users.
4. Moderation & message access
To protect users, Pendzi is not end-to-end encrypted and our moderators may access message content when investigating reports or policy violations. Every such access is logged. Data is protected in transit (TLS) and access is restricted and audited.
5. Sharing
We share data with service providers who help us operate (hosting, payment processing such as M-Pesa, email delivery), and where required by law or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell your personal data.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can pause or deactivate your account in Settings, or contact us to exercise these rights.
7. Retention
We keep your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymise your personal data, subject to limited retention required by law.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate core features. These are required for the Service to function.
9. Children
Pendzi is strictly for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
